Use case

AI document analysis with citations on every answer.

Upload PDFs, contracts, research papers, financial reports. Definable Knowledge Bases indexes everything; the Assistant answers questions with inline citations. Tenant-isolated, never used to train models.

The problem

Knowledge workers spend hours reading PDFs to extract a few key facts. Contracts, research papers, financial reports, regulatory filings — dense, repetitive, hard to skim. Existing PDF tools either miss context or hallucinate answers without proof.

How Definable solves it

Definable Knowledge Bases ingests any PDF, DOCX, Markdown, or HTML file. The system chunks the content, embeds it with the model of your choice (OpenAI, Cohere, Voyage, Jina, or open-source), and stores it in a tenant-isolated vector index.

Ask questions in natural language. The Assistant retrieves the most relevant passages and synthesizes an answer — with inline citations linking back to the exact page and paragraph. Cross-document queries work too: "compare the indemnification clauses across these three vendor contracts."

Privacy is non-negotiable. Documents are never used to train models. Encryption at rest with per-customer keys. Per-document ACLs preserve any existing permissions. Regional hosting in India, US, or EU.

Frequently asked questions

Can it analyze contracts?

Yes. Upload contracts and ask questions like "summarize the termination clauses" or "compare indemnification across these three." Citations link back to exact pages.

How accurate is it?

Citation-grounded answers are dramatically more accurate than ungrounded chat. The system retrieves source passages and synthesizes from them. Users can verify every claim against the source.

Are my documents used to train models?

No. Documents, prompts, and generated content are never used to train models — ours or any third party's.
